29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Machine guarding was not provided to protect operator(s) and other employees from hazard(s) created by moving machine parts: a) Box Palletizing Packaging Area: On or about July 19, 2017 and at times prior thereto; maintenance employees accessed improperly guarded moving machine parts. The Verbruggen Emmeloord B.V. VPM-BL palletizer was missing an interlocking gate on the South end of the palletizing machine, and a fence panel on the West side. The emergency stop was not engaged. b) Central plant: On or about July 19, 2017 and at times prior thereto; employees operating and working around a potato baler conveyor were exposed to unprotected nip points on the conveyor rollers which were missing adequate guarding.
