Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.332(b)(2): Employees, who were not qualified persons, were not trained in and familiar with any electrically related safety practices not specifically addressed by 29 CFR 1910.331 through 29 CFR 1910.335, but which were necessary for their safety: The employer is failing to protect employees from electrical shock hazards when performing window cleaning operations. This was most recently documented, on or about 7/12/2017, at 5431 SW 29th St, Topeka, Kansas 66604, where an unqualified employee was exposed to electrical shock hazards while utilizing a water fed extension pole without adequate training for working near energized overhead power line. The training did not include how employees were to calculate the working distance from energized overhead power lines based upon the tools used, angles of approach, and the configuration of the jobsite.
