OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees that were exposed to fire/explosion and struck by hazards while cutting into compressed gas cylinders: a)West Virginia Cashin Recyclables: On or about June 28, 2017, an employee used a Stihl TS 700 Cut off Saw, which produces frictional heat and sparks, to cut through a compressed gas oxygen cylinder. The cylinder was not purged of gas prior to cutting exposing employees to fire/explosion and struck by hazards.
