29 CFR 1910.36(e)(2): The door that connects any room to an exit route did not swing out in the direction of exit travel when the room is designed to be occupied by more than 50 people or if the room is a high hazard area: On or about June 20, 2017, at the Tyson Prepared Foods facility at 9 N Washington in South Hutchinson, Kansas employees engaged in operating, inspecting, testing, and maintaining activities in each of the compressor rooms were exposed to the hazards of inhalation of toxic ammonia and ammonia burns leading to death and injury to persons in that the employer failed to provide egress using outward swinging doors. The doors opening inwards impedes the employees egress from a potentially hazardous environment in the event of an ammonia release in the following areas: a) Compressor Room #1 b) Compressor Room #2 c) Compressor Room #3 d) Compressor Room #4
