29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. On or about June 1, 2017, employees were not protected from an 11.7 foot fall while walking/working from the canopy of a commercial building to install LED signs. The employer did not ensure employees were protected from a fall. DOYLE SIGNS, INC. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1122348, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on March 10, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 2305 N. Prospect Ave Milwaukee, WI 53211. Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
