Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing injuries in the event the employees was stuck by another vehicle or thrown from the Powered Industrial Truck: An employee working on the loading dock area was thrown from a forklift while in the process of unloading a flat bed truck. The Powered Industrial Truck was struck by the flat bed truck. One feasible method of abatement would be to use the existing seat belts. The Clark Fork Lift was equipped with a seat belt by the manufacture.
