Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fire and smoke inhalation: 94 Union Street, Guilford, CT 06437 On or about August 4, 2002, adequate precautions were not taken to prevent the ignition of flammable vapors in that inappropriate methods were utilized to start a 1986 GMC High Sierra 2500 with Connecticut registration 31839 Farm by pouring gasoline into the carburetor and turning the key of the ignition of the vehicle. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement is to seek a qualified mechanic/person to service or repair the vehicle when the vehicle was not starting due to abnormal situations.
