Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees exposed to fall hazards while working in tree removal operations where the employer failed to provide training to his employees in fall protection, climbing techniques, the proper use and maintenance of power tools and appropriate personal protective equipment. Feasible abatement methods include, but are not limited to, following the guidelines outlined in the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) Z133.1-1994 "Safety Requirements for Tree Care Operations, Pruning, Trimming, Repairing, Maintaining, Removing Trees and Cutting Brush".
