OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to amputation hazards: a. On or about April 30, 2017, employees that graded potatoes at the metal belt conveyor where the in going nip points at the inclined discharge end of the conveyor were not guarded, employees in the vicinity and grading potatoes were exposed to an amputation hazard from the ingoing nip point between the conveyor metal belt rods and the gear sprocket.
