29 CFR 1926.451(f)(3): Scaffolds and scaffold components were not inspected for visible defects by a competent person before each work shift, and after any occurrence which could affect a scaffold's structural integrity: a- 670 Prospect Avenue, Lakewood NJ - Company employees were exposed to fall hazards, in excess of 23 feet to the ground surface below, while performing siding installation from a pump jack scaffold that was without bracing installed 4 feet above the brace to be passed. On the day of the worksite inspection, this scaffold was not inspected for visible defects, prior to its use, by a competent person. Condition observed on or about 05/03/17. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
