Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a)Construction site, 2518 Osborne Road, St. Marys, GA, - Roof trusses were not adequately braced to prevent the trusses from collapsing and trusses were were overloaded on top chords, exposing employees installing the trusses to falls from elevations or being struck by the falling trusses, on or about 05/10/96. Among other methods, on feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install the trusses in accordance with the recommendations of the Truss Plate Institute contained in HIB-91, and the architects and truss manufacturer's recommendations.
