Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a) Jobsite: The employer did not require an employee operating a powered industrial truck to use the seat belt that was equipped on truck, exposing employees to crush hazards in the event of a vehicle tipover. Abatement Recommendations: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to require employees to use seat belts in accordance with ASME B56.1, and the Toyota Operators and Owner's Manual. Noted on or about 3/28/17.
