Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: BURNS
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a)Well 5-18 Flood 5 Alegheny National Forest, Bradord, PA 16701; Workers were servicing and plugging an oil and gas well and blowout prevention equipment was not installed when there was indication that a well would flow, either through prior records, present well conditions or planned well work. Furthermore, when the drilling or well servicing operation was in progress on the well, and when there is any indication the well will flow, the rig did not have on the rig floor a safety valve (stabbing valve with connections suitable for use with each size and type tool joint or tubing connection) being used on the job in that employees were exposed to burns and/or explosion hazards.n
