29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2): The employer shall instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his work environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury. a. Located at 1678 Wrenbury Drive in Galena, Ohio: On or about March 31, 2017, employees were performing framing work and placing I-beam supports for a new-build two story residential house. The employer failed to provide the required safety instruction and training related to the construction work being performed. Employees performing work onsite were not trained on fall protection, safe use of ladders, crane rigging and signaling, steel erection safety, and personal protective equipment use.
