Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a struck-by hazard. a.In Dept. 37, the Aro overhead hoist, No. 23 had no markings for each of the operational buttons on the pendant control. b.In Dept. 34, the Cleveland Trumrail, overhead hoist, No. 13, had no markings on the operational buttons of the pendant control. Feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard is to comply with the safe operating procedures recommended by ASME/ANSI B30. 16-1.1.2 such as (but not limited to): Permanently mark the directional mode of the operational buttons on the pendant controls.al
