29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): On or about February 16, 2017 and there prior, the employer did not assess the spot weld area to determine the hazards of welding fumes and gas by-products being inhaled by spot welders. The employer did not provide any type of PPE or alternative methods to prevent spot welders from inhaling welding fumes and gas by-products when spot welding carbon steel.
