29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(ii)(B): The energy control procedures did not clearly and specifically outline the steps for shutting down, isolating, blocking and securing machines or equipment to control hazardous energy. The employer is failing to protect employees from burn hazards. This was most recently documented on or about December 30, 2016. The employer did not develop specific procedural steps for shutting down, isolating, blocking and securing hazardous energy. Employees were exposed to hazards associated with the unexpected flow of hazardous product when changing a filter. Employee was changing a filter while a mixture of oil and Glycerin heated to approximately 490 degrees flowed through the open valve. The employee sustained severe burn injuries after the hot product came in contact with his body.
