29 CFR 1910.178(p)(1): Powered industrial truck(s) found to be in need of repair, defective, or in any way unsafe had not been taken out of service until restored to safe operating condition(s) (a) Facility Wide - On February 1, 2017, the employer failed to ensure that all powered industrial trucks that were found to be in need of repair or were in anyway unsafe were removed from service until they had been restored to a safe operating condition. The horn on forklift #2 and #8 were not functioning. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item. U.S Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard, 29 CFR 1910.178(p)(1) which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 1201606, citation number 1, Item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on March 29, 2017 with respect to the workplace located at 11251 Rancho Carmel Drive, San Diego, CA 92199.
