Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i): Procedures were not developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section: (a) Facility, 1506 Mars-Evans City Road, Evans City, PA: On or before January 23, 2017 the employer did not have a procedure for the control of hazardous energy for employees who perform maintenance on the HTST2 equipment. On January 19, 2017 an employee involved in a maintenance task was injured when they were sprayed with pressurized, hot water. There was no specific energy control procedure in place to address the sources of energy for the equipment and what methods could be used to control the energy.
