29 CFR 1926.600(a)(6)(ii): 29 CFR 1926.600(a)(6)(ii): For lines rated over 50 kV, a minimum of 10 feet plus 0.4 inch for each 1 kV over 50 kV, or twice the length of the line insulator was not maintained between the energized line and any part of the equipment or load. On or about January 18, 2017 the employer allowed the operator of the excavator to come within ten (10) feet of a 138 kV high voltage power line.
