Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that they were exposed to hazards associated with operating the forklift without using the seat belts. On or about 1/25/17 in the Opening Department; the employer allowed employees, and the employees were observed operating the Toyota (Model #8FDU25, Serial # 31230) and the Hyster propane fork trucks without using the seat belts provided as a restraint device; thus exposing employees to serious injuries in the event of a tip-over.
