Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.213(c)(1): Each circular hand-fed ripsaw was not guarded by a hood made of adequate strength to resist blows and strains incidental to reasonable operation, adjusting, and handling, and adequate in strength to resist any reasonable side thrust or other force tending to throw it out of line: (a) Power Engineering Company, at 2325 S. Delaware St., Denver, CO 80223: On and before January 10, 2017, the employer did not ensure that a table saw used to cut plywood (4' x 8') was adequately guarded. The guard in place was defeated when the back end of the plywood was lowered, raising the guard. An employee experienced a laceration when his hand contacted the rotating saw blade. This condition exposed employees to an amputation hazard.
