Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: On or about January 5, 2017 at the FedEx Line Haul yard, an employee working at the back of an International tractor truck when disconnecting the tractor truck from its semi-trailer was exposed to a crushed-by hazard from the moving tractor. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation describing steps taken to ensure that employees disconnecting semi-trailers and not exposed to a crushed-by hazard.
