OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards: A) Autoneum North America, Inc., located at 645 Lallendorf Road, Oregon, OH 43616: On or about November 7, 2016, employees were exposed to stuck-by hazards from projected machine components while working near the South Edge Grinder, located at the Feilong Line. Serious injury could result to employees if the equipment malfunctioned and exploded, causing pieces of the grinders to strike employees in the vicinity. B) Autoneum North America, Inc., located at 645 Lallendorf Road, Oregon, OH 43616: On or about December 23, 2016, employees were exposed to stuck-by hazards from projected machine components while working near the North Edge Grinder, located at the Feilong Line. Serious injury could result to employees if the equipment malfunctioned and exploded, causing pieces of the grinders to strike employees in the vicinity. Among other methods, some feasible and acceptable methods to correct this hazard would be to: · use alternative equipment, such as chop fans, to process material · install a different model grinder, which is designed for the type of material being processed, and designed to contain internal components in the event of a catastrophic failure.
