Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.178(q)(7): Industrial trucks shall be examined before being placed in service, and shall not be placed in service if the examination shows any condition adversely affecting the safety of the vehicle. Such examination shall be made at least daily. Where industrial trucks are used on a round-the-clock basis, they shall be examined after each shift. Defects when found shall be immediately reported and corrected. On or about 04 January 2017, the employer failed to examine the powered industrial trucks as least daily for any condition that could adversely affect the safety of the vehicle. Employees were exposed to a crushing hazards and struck by hazards. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
