29 CFR 1926.50(c): In the absence of an infirmary, clinic, hospital, or physician, that is reasonably accessible in terms of time and distance to the worksite, which is available for the treatment of injured employees, a person who has a valid certificate in first-aid training from the U.S. Bureau of Mines, the American Red Cross, or equivalent training that can be verified by documentary evidence, shall be available at the worksite to render first aid. (a) On June 20, 2016, the employer did not ensure that in case of an emergency at the worksite, such as but not limited to a serious injury and/or illness, that at least one of the employees on site had a current first aid certification. When an employee became ill on June 20, 2016, the employee did not receive medical attention within 4 to 5 minutes in that the employee was driven by company truck from the worksite at 3659 Brotherton Road, Cincinnati, OH to the company's office located at 3168 Crescent Avenue, Erlanger, KY. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.
