Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) On or about December 5, 2016, employees were exposed to the hazard of falling approximately 12 stories during the performance of concrete restoration work from the edge of the roof deck. Master Brick Builders, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 571299, citation 1, item 1, and was affirmed as a final order on August 30, 2012, with respect to a worksite located at 509-511 Aurora Avenue, Naperville, Illinois. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
