Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.416(a)(1): No employer shall permit an employee to work in such proximity to any part of an electric power circuit that the employee could contact the electric power circuit in the course of work, unless the employee is protected against electric shock by deenergizing the circuit and grounding it or by guarding it effectively by insulation or other means. On or about November 11, 2016, employees were exposed to shock and electrocution hazards where the powerlines were not deenergized or effectively guarded by insulation while using a Werner D1340-2 40 foot Type 1 aluminum extension ladder to prepare to paint a residence at 4919 Eastern Avenue in Cincinnati, Ohio.
