29 CFR 1910.1030(d)(4)(ii)(E): Reusable sharps that were contaminated with blood or other potentially infectious material were stored or processed in a manner that required employees to reach by hand into the containers where these sharps had been placed: (a) On or about October 27, 2016, and at times prior, employees in the Decontamination room of the Sterile Processing Department were exposed to contaminated sharps when they reached in baskets with their hand to remove surgical instruments for cleaning and processing.
