29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each powered industrial truck operator is competent to operate a powered industrial truck safely, as demonstrated by the successful completion of the training and evaluation specified in this paragraph (l): (a) USPS San Francisco P&DC, Facility Wide: The employer allowed employees and supervisors on tour one (1) and tour three (3) to operate an electric Taylor-Dunn vehicle throughout the facility, including the loading dock areas, who had not been provided initial training or evaluation for safe operation. United States Postal Service San Francisco P&DC was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 839983, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on September 13, 2013, with respect to a workplace located at 3775 Industrial Blvd., West Sacramento, CA 95799.
