29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(ii): Prior to permitting an employee to operate a powered industrial truck (except for training purposes), the employer shall ensure that each operator has successfully completed the training required by this paragraph (l), except as permitted by paragraph (l)(5). a. On or about August 4, 2016, located on the 3rd floor at the Columbus Municipal Light Plant, an employee was operating an Allis-Chalmers, model FT 20-24PS, serial number 53348000, forklift without being trained to operate powered industrial vehicles, thereby exposing the operator and other employees in the area to the hazards associated with forklift operations.
