29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Eye and face protective equipment were not used when machines or operations presented potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents: a. Employees operating pneumatic nail guns to perform re-roofing work without the use of eye protection are exposed to being struck by flying debris or nails. The employer fails to assure effective protection against eye and face injuries as required by the standard, as demonstrated on August 2, 2016, when employees were working on a residential roof at 10768 Brown Trout Circle, Orlando, Florida 32825 without eye protection while using pneumatic nail guns and were exposed to eye injuries from flying debris or nails. Jasper Contractors, Inc. previously committed a willful violation of this standard on November 23, 2015, with respect to a workplace at 11895 Swooping Willow Road, Jacksonville, Florida which became a final order on April 21, 2016 (Inspection No. 1107776). Jasper Contractors, Inc. previously committed a willful violation of this standard on October 9, 2015, with respect to a workplace at 4422 Willow Chase Terrace, Jacksonville, Florida which became a final order on April 21, 2016 (Inspection No. 1097900). Jasper Contractors, Inc. previously committed a willful violation of this standard on September 30, 2015, with respect to a workplace at 3524 Waverly Dock Road, Jacksonville, Florida which became a final order on April 21, 2016 (Inspection No. 1095511). Jasper Contractors, Inc. previously committed a willful violation of this standard on March 4, 2015, with respect to a workplace at 12357 Boston Harbor Drive, Jacksonville, Florida which became a final order on June 23, 2016 (Inspection No. 1044055). Jasper Contractors, Inc., previously committed a serious violation of this standard on September 11, 2012, with respect to a workplace at 2927 Newbury Court, Highlands Ranch, CO, which became a final order on November 28, 2012 (Inspection No. 626158).
