Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a fall hazard from the six-foot fiberglass step ladder used to gain access to the seven feet five inch high mold: (a)No Bake Molding Area - Two employees worked on top of the no bake sand mold that was seven feet five inches above the surface. They used a six-foot fiberglass step ladder to gain access to the top of the no bake sand mold. The employees used the top step and the top of the step ladder as a step, on or about February 9, 2011. AMOUNG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD INCLUDEDS COMPLYING WITH AMERICAN NATIONAL STANDARD FOR LADDERS (ANSI A14.5-2000) AS WELL AS THE SAFETY REQUIREMENTS OUTLINED IN THE LADDER'S MANUFACTURING LISTING AND LABELING REQUIREMENTS. VERIFICATION REQUIRED
