Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: fall hazard of up to seven (7) feet while standing on an unsecured wooden pallet used as a work platform on the forks of a lift truck. (a)Live Holding Shed - Employees used a pallet on the forks of a Clark forklift truck as a work platform while attempting to raise and secure a fan to the wood frame work. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO PROVIDE A PLATFORM DESIGNED FOR THE SAFE LIFTING OF PERSONNEL WHICH IS FASTENED TO THE LIFTING MECHANISM OF THE FORK TRUCK.
