Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Mellon Bank Building, Number One North Main Street, Greensburg, PA 15601; Employee was working on a wooden window cleaner's ladder manufactured by W.W. Babcock, Company Inc. which was seven sections (6' sections) in length or approximately 36'. The manufacturer states the maximum assembled length of sections must not exceed 21'. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is not to assemble teh ladder to exceed 21'.
