Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that could cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employee(s) were exposed to struck-by hazards while working in areas without adequate lighting: (a) Date of Violation: On or about 06-14-2016 and times prior thereto, located at U.S. Postal Service Merrifield Processing and Distribution Center, 8409 Lee Hwy. Merrifield, VA 22081, Condition: Employees worked in, around and between moving equipment/trucks on the walking and working surfaces at the West Loading dock with inadequate and sometimes no lighting. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employee(s) and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
