Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees exposed to excessive heat: a. Yard Areas - Employees were exposed to excessive heat with Wet Bulb Globe Temperatures (WBGTs) ranging from 88.0 to 95.6 degrees F while working in an outside production area while performing moderate to heavy manual labor, which included grinding and sanding of concrete structures and products. Such exposures may lead to the development of serious heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke. An employee suffered a heat-related injury during the inspection, on or about June 16, 2016.
