Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to physical injuries: (a) Employee(s) operating a 14hp powered Vanguard Lawnmower from behind used to cut inclined lawns at various locations throughout Kansas and Missouri, were exposed to lacerations/amputations created by no deadman controls to disengage the lawnmower when the operator's actuation force has been removed as stated by 1910.243(e)(3)(vii). Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to provide a deadman switch on the 14hp Vanguard
