Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to slipping and falling on ice. (a) Location - Second Floor between lines 5 and 6: On 2/13/01, employees, in order to reach their assigned work areas, were exposed to slipping and falling while walking on ice. Among other methods to correct this hazard include: 1. Remove the ice as it occurs. 2. Salt and sand the iced areas.
