29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmets: JOB SITE: The Village of Montrachet, near 7166 Hwy N, OFallon, MO 63367, at this work site, a worker was inside an open trench, approximately 4 feet 7 inches wide, approximately 135 feet in total length, and approximately 8 feet deep (at time of inspection), actively laying a concrete manhole with an 8 inch PVC sanitary line and not protected by protective helmets. The worker was exposed to a potential head injury hazard. The Karrenbrock Excavating, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.100(a), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 896722, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 06/28/2013, with respect to a workplace located at 1201 S. Fifth St., St. Charles, MO, 63301.
