Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: EXPLOSION
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to Carbon Monoxide and LP GAS. (a) In the workplace - Employees were exposed to Carbon Monoxide because the employer delayed initiating employee evacuation; On or about 4/18/96. (b) In the workplace/Carving Area - Employees were exposed to LP GAS because the employer delayed initiating employee evacuation; On or about 7/29/96. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method is to: 1.Develop and Implement an EMERGENCY EVACUATION PLAN which is outlined and contained in the Corporate 'Operations Manual 8/95, 1995 Boston Chicken, Inc.' or Develop and Implement an EMERGENCY EVACUATION PLAN as outlined in 29 CFR 1910.38 - Employee Emergency Plans and Fire Prevention Plansntion
