OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees from struck-by hazards: a) On or about January 19, 2016, in the Anixter warehouse yard, located at 11614 S. Austin Ave. Alsip, Illinois, a Hudson Transport truck driver, wearing dark clothing, at night exited his vehicle and performed work adjacent to his trailer with other truck traffic present. The employer did not ensure that the employee used a high visibility safety vest and/or traffic cones when working in the presence of vehicular traffic. The employee was thereby exposed to struck-by hazards from moving vehicles. 29 CFR 1903.19(d)(1) requires certification and documentation that the abatement of the above violation is completed.
