29 CFR 1960.8(a): The head of each agency did not furnish to each employee employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)San Carlos Irrigation Project: On or about 09/03/08 employee was not wearing his seatbelt while operating a HYSTER Diesel forklift, Model H60XL, Serial No. A117B27295K, rated at 6000 pounds. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to wear the provided seatbelt as referenced in ITSDF B56.1-2005, "Safety standard for low lift and high lift trucks" or follow the operator manual under use of seatbelt.
