Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: UNAPOPPROC
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a)On 06/21/07 at Triumph Engines Tempe (Chandler), the Coffing One Ton Crane, S/N EC-1C-131- XJD, located at the North Rail, West Hoist, was holding a furnace bell with the safety latch broken. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to conduct inspections regularly and follow the ASME/ANSI B30.16-1987, Chapter 16-2, Section 1.2, letter (e) which states: Hook latches, if used shall be checked for proper operation.7,
