Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: The hazards of toxic, flammable and oxygen deficient atmospheres when cleaning out tanks with high pressure water hoses. On 5/10/91 an employee enterred a LPG tank at 4001 Cedar Point Rd. for cleaning purposes and the atmosphere had not been checked prior to entry for oxygen toxic or combustible gases. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to have the atmosphere checked prior to entry for: a) Sufficient oxygen b) combustible gas c) toxic substances
