Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to injuries from dropped loads: a) In Mold cleaning - hooks used on hoists had been repaired by welding without approval of manufacturer and load testing was not done after repairs. b) In Mold cleaning - load ratings of each of two spreader bars was not obtained before putting them in use. One feasible and acceptable method of abatement to correct these hazards is to change hooks and to obtain load ratings of spreader bars.
