Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by the load: a)In the workplace, receiving and storage area, on or about 02-19-2002: Pendant controls of the overhead hoist were not clearly identified as to indicate their function as required by American National Standards Institute (ANSI) B30.16, para 16-1.1.2. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement to correct this hazard is to label the control buttons of the pendant control to indicate the direction of resultant motion.nt
