Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard: (a) Location: Second Floor Next to the Duct Work Riser Opening; An employee was exposed to a serious fall hazard while working from a step ladder above and next to the existing guard rail system without any type of fall protection. Among other methods of abating this condition would be to utilize a scaffold or Scissor lift where as the employee would be protected from a fall into the opening
