Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a recognized hazard of electrical shock or burns: (a)M/V Pacific Scout: Employees working in the Baader shop had occasion to use or be near a 110-volt electrical male plug that had two separate electrical cords installed in the plug-in. This condition exposed employees to possible electrical shock or burns. Among other methods, one acceptable and feasible method of abatement would be to install separate male plug-ins.
