Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to injury from vehicle rollovers. a.) Siniawa Equipment Rentals, Elm Street Park Construction Project, Dickson City, PA: An Ingersoll Rand SP48 vibratory compactor was used near the edge of an embankment and was not equipped with a rollover protective structure (ROPS) and seat belt; on or about September 3, 1992. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install a rollover protective structure (ROPS) and a seat belt on the compactor.
